Our Veterinary Team

We are here to help you understand every aspect of your pet’s health. We are a dedicated group of professional that love our job and truly care for your furry friends. The Woodbine Animal Clinic team is here to help keep your pets healthy and happy.

Dr. Littlejohn

Dr. Littlejohn graduated from the Ontario College of Veterinarians in 1972, and established the Woodbine Animal Clinic in 1978. As well as owning the Woodbine Animal Clinic he was also a founding member of the Toronto Veterinary Emergency Clinic.  Admired by the staff and clients of WAC for his passion, care and concern for animals and their health, more than 30 years later he still set’s an example for those around him.

He can often be found participating in marathons and enjoys a challenge such as climbing mount Kilimanjaro.  He is also an avid gardener and finds peace caring for his menagerie of pets including 3 dogs, a cat, a parakeet, a couple of horses and a flock of chickens!

Dr. Elmhirst

Dr. Elmhirst graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2009 and has been practicing veterinary medicine in Toronto ever since.  Her professional interests include internal medicine and preventative care.  She lives in the Beaches area with her husband, their two young (human) children, and their fur babies – Henna the golden retriever and Armani the cat.

When she is not working you may find her strolling the boardwalk, travelling, reading or catching up on the newest Netflix series.  Dr. Elmhirst is pleased to be working at such a wonderful clinic that is so close to home.

Dr Scott

Dr. Scott

Dr. Scott attained a B.Sc. from McGill University, and went on to the Atlantic Veterinary College in Charlottetown, PEI for her veterinary training. She had practiced in Halifax for 5 years before moving to Toronto with her husband, and settling into her career.  In addition to keeping very busy with her two school-age children, she has a furry family of two cats and a yellow lab who loves the happy chaos.

When not at work, she can be spotted running never-ending errands in the neighbourhood, or like many of us, pulling her dog away from eating something on the ground.

Beth – Registered Veterinary Technician

Beth has been brought onto the team as a Registered Veterinary Technician, with the addition of Beth came her dog Ollie.  Ollie has quickly become the clinics treat ambassador, making sure that no kind of treat goes without taste testing before being served to our patients.   Beth was born is Saskatoon but moved to Toronto in 2004 once she completed her schooling at Saskatchewan Polytechnic.

Aside from her dog Ollie (whom you most likely have met), she is currently fostering a cat who is full of attitude!  Along with hanging out with her furry companions at home, Beth also enjoys being active outdoors.  Running, cycling and swimming are among her favorites.  Her ultimate favorite activity has been exploring and hiking with Ollie through the different provincial parks in Ontario.

Marjorie – Registered Veterinary Technician

Marjorie came to become a member of the Woodbine Team in 2009. As a second year tech student, she started in the position of reception. Upon her graduation from Seneca College, she began working “in the back” as a technician, and has been a key member of the team since.  Her upbeat and happy personality are appreciated by her teammates and clients alike.

Marjorie considers herself a bit of a foodie and is known for spending her time exploring what the city has to offer in the way of new restaurants.  She has re-directed this interest into baking and decorating beautiful cakes for friends and family.  She also enjoys spending time with her bulldog Tyson.

Vanessa – Client Care Representative

Born and raised in East York, Vanessa considers herself a true “East Yorker” and has felt very at home here as part of the WAC team.  She spent many years working in the health food industry and although she enjoyed her work she never felt truly satisfied.  When the opportunity to work with our team arose, she didn’t hesitate to make a change following her passion for helping animals.

Vanessa has a particular interest in animal behavior and enjoys watching how her 3 cats Palmer, Medley and Nancy interact with one another.  She can often be found in the kitchen baking (which the staff is grateful for) or playing with her niece in the local park.

Luisa

Luisa – Veterinary Assistant

Born and raised in Dominican Republic, Luisa came to Canda in 2013. Upon her graduation from the University of Toronto Mississauga in 2019, Luisa began working at Woodbine Animal Clinic.

When not at work she can be round re-reading Jane Austen’s books and working on her Aerial Gymnastics skills.
